Wien Work – what we are doing

Wien Work is an innovative non-profit, multi-faceted social economy organisation charged with caring for persons experiencing disadvantages on the job market. People with disadvantages, chronic conditions or long-term unemployed people get the chance to be part of the economic and social process.
 

Some facts and figures

Currently, more than 600 people are employed at Wien Work. Two thirds of our employees and apprentices are physically, sensorial or educationally handicapped or have been long-term unemployed.
We operate just like any other 'regular' business. Just like anywhere else, our employees receive their salaries according to their work as e.g. a carpenter, sewer, painter or metalworker.
In our capacity as a business enterprise, we offer a comprehensive high-quality range of services and products.  And we are dedicated to achieve sustainable success as a business in order to fulfil our social task.

Our company philosophy is a high internal cash flow generation and the economical use of public funding.
 

Close to people

We are facing up to the challenge of our integrative approach. With our activities we help to raise public awareness on issues of fellow citizens with disabilities.
The Disabled Persons Employment Act (Behinderteneinstellungsgesetz - BEINSTG) and the Vienna Equal Opportunities Act (Wiener Chancengleichheitsgesetz) form the legal foundation.

As a dynamic multi-faceted social economy organisation we understand and live up to our responsibility to society. Our integrative approach is focused on providing

Commission us and get a credit on your annual turnover. We only charge 10% VAT and having a contract with Wien Work you demonstrate social responsibility.
